CARS IN THE PARK – PISTON RING CLUB 21 OCTOBER 2007

Itwas a pleasant day for this outing. The cars were displayed in the areaclose to the Piston Ring Club, as the one used last year is beingexcavated for some sort of development.

OurClub had a fair turn out, with about 10 cars being there. Some of ourmembers arrived driving other marques, for a change. Perhaps fewerPretoria members joined us because of the Studebaker event thefollowing week.

ChrisSpinks was hobbling along as he continues to make progress with hisfoot, but not driving yet. Lawrie Bartle, John Webb, Alex and CherrylBerry, Errol Myers, Philip Gordon, Steve McGrail, Ray Hide, LawsonFlint, Dirk van der Heever and yours truly were there. My apologies toanyone whose names have been left out, as I can’t locate the list ofthose who attended. Also, sometimes members arrive early and don’t stayto join us for lunch, so I may miss seeing them.
There were manymagnificent, exciting and interesting cars on view for the public andclub members alike and these were admired by all and sundry. The usualaccessory stalls with their wears were on display, all of which addedto the occasion. Most of the Club members who attended brought picnicbaskets and we enjoyed our food and the camaraderie before leaving atabout 14h00, having spent another outing having fun with our friends.

This was the 2nd year of the event and promises to grow into a big and worthwhile outing for all car lovers.
